خال ها نوعی ضایعات پوستی هستند که معمولاً دارای خطوط گرد و محدوده‌ مشخصی می باشند و عمدتاً به رنگ قهوه‌ای دیده می شوند. از آنجایی که این خال‌ها ممکن است از بدو تولد وجود داشته باشند، می‌توانند تحت تأثیر عوامل خارجی مختلف مانند آفتاب، رژیم غذایی، محصولات آرایشی و بهداشتی افزایش اندازه پیدا کنند.

خال ها می توانند هم سطح با پوست یا برجسته باشند. با وجود این که غالبا خال ها بدون خطر می باشند، ممکن است در برخی موقعیت ها پیش ساز مشکلات مختلف گردند.

به همین دلیل خال ها باید تحت کنترل باشند و در صورت افزایش اندازه باید با پزشک مشورت کرد. در خال‌هایی که بی‌ضرر و هم سطح پوست هستند، می‌توان خال‌ها را با لیزر برای ظاهری زیباتر از بین برد.

درمان خال با لیزر فرآیندی است که ممکن است بر روی خال ها در نواحی مختلف انجام گردد. با توجه به رنگ و عمق خال ها می توان بیش از یک یا 2 جلسه درمانی در نظر گرفت.

قبل از شروع درمان تخریب خال با لیزر، بی حسی موضعی روی خال اعمال می گردد. این بی حسی موضعی را می توان با تزریق ماده بی حس کننده یا کرم های بی حسی متناسب با اندازه خال انجام داد.

در شروع فرایند تخریب، سطح فوقانی خال به صورت لکه های کوچک توسط اشعه لیزر تخریب می گردد و در ادامه تخریب کامل ضایعه انجام می پذیرد.

سفید شدن پوست محل تخریب و یا قرمزی محل تخریب محتمل است که در صورت رعایت تکنیک مناسب احتمال این عوارض حداقل خواهد بود. عارضه جانبی جدی متعاقب لیزر تخریب خال گزارش نشده است.
